Camp Expectations

We understand that each family has different rules and these camp expectations are not meant to offend anyone’s personal standards. They are meant to ensure a consistent environment that reflects Christian principles and Florida College standards. By attending camp, all agree to respect and uphold these guidelines while at camp. Failure to comply with these expectations, may result in a camper being sent home before the end of camp.

Respect for Property

  • Campers are expected to respect the personal property of others. Theft is not tolerated.

  • Should another’s personal property be damaged by a camper, the parent/guardian of that camper will be held responsible for damages.

Purity in Relationships

  • Inappropriate contact or conversations of a sexual nature will not be tolerated.

  • No public display of affection is permitted (e.g., holding hands, kissing, sitting in laps, inappropriate touching).

  • Campers may not be alone with a member of the opposite sex in a private place.

Purity in Body

  • The use of tobacco, alcohol & drugs (this includes vaping & e-cigarettes) will not be tolerated.

  • All medications are to be turned into the camp nurse.  Only the nurse is to dispense medication.

Social Purity

  • Opposite sex dorms are off limits.

  • Only visit same sex dorms when invited and accompanied by one who lives there.

  • No cameras in the dorms.  Photos are only to be taken outside of dorms.

Verbal Purity

  • Profanity or abusive speech of any kind should never be used.

  • Talk, references, or innuendo about sex in any way will not be tolerated.

  • Campers should always talk in a respectful and cooperative way.

Respect for Others

  • We are a no prank camp.

  • Harassment of any kind is not acceptable.

  • No horseplay or rough housing that has the potential to be dangerous or harmful is permitted.

  • Being disrespectful to staff or disobedient to rules will not be tolerated.

Dress Code

The camp’s dress code is set to match the standards established at Florida College.

  • Keep it Covered

    • All shorts or skirts must TOUCH THE KNEECAP

      • No holes in clothing with skin showing above the knee.

    • No tank tops.

    • No tight-fitting clothes (No leggings/jeggings/yoga pants of any kind).

    • No low-cut necklines or large open arm holes.

    • Keep your midsection covered (no crop tops or low rise pants).

    • No tops that are sheer or reveal undergarments.

    • Guys should wear shirts at all times.  No open sided shirts for guys.

    • Clothes used for water day activities must not become see-through or cling closely to the body when wet.

    • Campers are allowed to wear earrings and/or a small nose stud. All other piercings must be removed.

    • Shoes must be worn at all times outside of dorms.

  • Keep it Clean

    • No clothing should display profanity, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, sexual content, death, hate, violence, or any imagery that undermines the values set forth in the Code of Moral Conduct.

Prohibited Items

  • Campers: Do not bring electronics of any kind to camp.  (Cell phones, iPods, iPads, mp3’s, radios, portable speakers, laptops, etc)  The week of camp is the perfect time to “unplug” from the world and focus on your friends at camp!  They will be taken up at registration if you bring them on site.

    • Cameras can be used and must be used with courtesy, respecting personal privacy. There will be no pictures taken in cabins or restrooms.

  • No weapons of any kind (no knives, no BB guns, etc.)

  • No fireworks or lighters of any kind.

  • Do not bring food from home unless you have dietary allergies – that food will be kept in the kitchen and handed out at meals from one of the kitchen staff.

Additional Guidelines for Campers

  • Name tags must be worn at all times.

  • Campers’ cars are to be left parked and locked at all times with all keys turned in at registration.

  • Do not skip an activity or go to a different activity than is on your schedule (unless excused by the nurse or directors).

  • Your safety is our responsibility; we need to know where you are at all times.

  • Campers must stay on the campground at all times.
